This is an rough extract of the steps I followed to install a B18C5 powertrain (including the hydraulic transmission) into an 1988 CRX Si. When this project was done, no one had mounts to install a B series hydraulic transmission. Enjo mounts were used and modified accordingly. I used a 1990 Civic and 1998 Integra Helms service manual to understand the required modifications to the wiring harness.
installation of the B18C5 swap:
Lower it in as you normally would.
hydraulic transmission mount:
With the vehicle supported on a level surface, install the engine & transmission. Install the driver’s side mount and the rear transmission mount. Raise the transmission so that the engine is level.
The top transmission mount needs to be modified since mount kit was designed for cable transmission.
custom tranny mount (modified Enjo mount to fit hydro tranny). I made a card board template and then made the metal mount.
Here’s the custom transmission mount installed (Enjo mount modified to fit the hydraulic transmission).
The dreaded wiring:
The ITR ECU is used, second O2 sensor installed, no engine codes. Solder all wiring and cover with shrink wrap. Then use some electrical tape to bundle the wiring.
OBD2 connectors used in the engine bay
The final product:
